"Dor fach" or little Dorothy used to sit on wall outside her house after school, she lived accross the road, we were part of a gang of village kids that used to play hide and seek, pretend to be invisible, or throw mud at each other, depending on what we were interested in.
good use of colour and semi abstraction, very evocative of the tourist posters of the 30's onwards.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anonymous, yes I love that whole Hopperesque, never had it so good, nostalgia for the future, sunny days without end, the american dream etc type thing.
ReplyDeleteI feel that Dorothy's sad - bet she wasn't in the gang eh?
ReplyDeleteDorothy wasnt sad, she was in the gang, bit stir crazy village mad, but that was normal for the village, we didnt have enough of a throughput of normal people to know what normal was. Spose it was very Dylan Thomas, and it was the sixties, which was a different country in itself.
