A single colour wash in phthalo blue over a white textured gesso ground which was laid in a random fashion. A rubber blade was dragged through the wet wash which gave the impression of the spine and tail flukes of the whale. With a little research and observation I managed to pull this image out of the depths (no pun intended)

ReplyDeleteSometimes Sheila, I see things happening in paint as it puddles or dries, sometimes the serendipitous nature of art takes my breath away.
