Somewhere out there

This project was set by Rhian, I chose to look at the subject from a different perspective, mixing fiction and reality, Teletubbies meet Pink Floyd in Photoshop.

My challenge to the other Frankart members was that on a random day and time I would text the others and they had to take a photograph with their phones of whatever they were just looking at.. It backfired as only one received the text on time, so I waited until I received the last confirmation, then shot my picture.

Personal Objects, Mark.

This is a 3 colour watercolour pencil rendering of two objects which sit at my desk, One is an amethyst which catches my eye every day and the other is a small brass buddah brought back from Cambodia as a gift from a friend.
Just another example of optical mixing whereby process yellow, magenta and cyan are used in layers to create a shimmering surface (well that's the idea)

Personal objects Simon

Well, for this exercise I collected together one walking boot, that carried me across the Himalayas, and over many welsh mountains, didnt leak once and caused me ,well very few blisters, my Camera....an everyday tool...my old hake brush, that I have had for 25 years.. yes 25 years, a few pallet's I use everyday, couple of books on Hopper and Turner, topped off by a menthol stick that I use as a hangover cure.. couldn't fit wife kids and pets onto pile, but apart from that this is me sort of defined, well sort of my external life.

Simon, Childhood memory

"Dor fach" or little Dorothy used to sit on wall outside her house after school, she lived accross the road, we were part of a gang of village kids that used to play hide and seek, pretend to be invisible, or throw mud at each other, depending on what we were interested in.

Apologies, apologies. Rationale was the Catholic church has a long history of financial acumen, selling credits from purgatory , selling plastic glow in the dark Madonna's, charging to see icons etc. So this is a bit of contemporary merchandising, again sorry....

First part of image is my mothers recollection of how surprisingly pleasant, funny, interesting, the Italian, then later the German POWs were, who worked on her fathers farm.
The second part shows the ruthless logic of Nazi ideology, the aim was to dismantle any idea of British nationhood and exploit the resources for their needs.
